Not a Gambling Girl

Got a quick look at Lady Liberty- had to get my car from parking before I got charged another night so I didn't jump on the ferry this visit.
On the road to Atlantic City.  If you've been to Vegas, AC is nothing.  I was impressed more by the ocean and enjoyed the stroll on the Boardwalk, but other than that... I don't know, several areas were blocked off for reconstruction (the story of this trip!).  Parts of the Boardwalk, the Garden Pier, a few shops/ eateries on the Boardwalk.  I basically just liked my walk itself.  Didn't go in any casinos- not much of a gambler.  I did get a picture in front of Caesaer's Palace- but not the real one :)  The chariot sculpture with Caesar was awesome.

Oh! Almost forgot:  favorite thing in AC were the cats.  There is an agency that captures the strays in the area, feeds and vaccinates them, then releases them where they were found on the strip... this group keeps up their diet and everything.  I found it odd when I kept seeing very fit and clean cats wandering around.  They just walk along side of you, come up for a scratch behind the ears, lounge on the beach... I saw at least 20+ on my walk down the beach!  Loved it :)

Walked until sunset and then walked back to the car pretty much the same way to see the Boardwalk lit up.  Nice; had a carnival feel.
Atlantic City also has the tallest of New Jersey's lighthouses.  But it does not look very tall.  Maybe it's because it is in the middle of the neighborhood, surrounded by buildings.  Just looks out of place; I didn't bother posting a picture, especially after already seeing the one in Maine.
Other than the Boardwalk, I wasn't impressed by city.  Kind of run down.  Needless to say, I didn't stay for more than a few hours.
Made into Philadelphia... now this is more like it.  I just took a short walk around and some of these buildings are so beautiful: City Hall, the Opera House, Building of Fine Arts, etc.  No pictures tonight; I was busy eating delicious frozen yogurt while the batteries for the camara were being charged.  I just took the opportunity to walk and explore to map out where the photo ops were to take place in the am! (Don't worry, philly steak in on the menu for lunch)
